Raised with strong values such as loyalty, respect, tolerance, and faith in God, Sonya pursued her studies diligently, eventually graduating as an industrial engineer and a confection engineer.

Today, Sonya works with the Sewing Workshop Program at Global Apparel. "La Escuelita" is a driving force behind the growth and success of many individuals who, due to various circumstances, seek more secure employment with better conditions to support their families. The program offers flexible hours and provides work that remains consistent, catering to small, medium, and large enterprises in the garment manufacturing industry.
